Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure

In one line

Right now, Studely earns nothing. No link on the site is an affiliate link, and no advertising is being served.

We intend to add both. When we do, any affiliate link will earn us a commission at no extra cost to you, it will be labelled on the offer itself, and this page will say so in the present tense. It will never change how we rate an offer. Advertising, when it starts, will be served by Google.

The full disclosure

Affiliate links

Studely is a free directory of tools, cloud credits, courses and discounts for students. None of the outbound links is an affiliate link at present, so no vendor pays us anything when you click through.

We expect that to change. When a link does become an affiliate link, the vendor may pay Studely a commission if you sign up or buy afterwards, and the following will apply:

  • You never pay more because a link is an affiliate link. The price is the same as going to the vendor directly.
  • Not every link will be an affiliate link — we do not always know in advance which vendors run a programme.
  • A commission can be earned whether or not the product is free; some vendors pay for a qualified sign-up.
  • The offer itself will carry a label, and this page will say so in the present tense.

This is disclosed to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising and, for UK readers, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) / CAP Code rules on identifiable advertising and affiliate marketing.

It does not influence our scoring

Every offer on Studely is scored from a fixed, published list of named attributes — for example “no card required” or “full paid tier, free” — each worth a set number of points. The score is the sum of those attributes and nothing else. Commercial relationships, affiliate payouts and ad revenue are not attributes and carry no points. Every offer page shows its own full breakdown, and the criteria are set out on How we score.

Because the score comes only from attributes a reader can see and check, an affiliate deal cannot move an offer up or down the rankings.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

When advertising goes live, ads on Studely will be served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and — where you consent — to personalise them. Studely does not choose which specific ads you see.

  • In the EU, EEA and UK, advertising cookies are only set after you give consent through our cookie banner, as required by the ePrivacy Directive (the “cookie law”), the GDPR and the UK GDPR.
  • In California and other U.S. states with similar laws, you can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CCPA/CPRA. A “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” / opt-out control will be provided.
  • How Google uses data from sites that use its services is described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Studely’s audience includes students who may be minors (16–17). Serving personalised ads to users who are, or may be, children triggers extra obligations (e.g. GDPR Art. 8, the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, and the U.S. COPPA regime). Because of that, Studely will not enable personalised advertising for this audience: when ads are switched on, they will be served as non-personalised unless and until an age-assurance mechanism is in place.

Editorial independence

Studely’s catalogue is editorially independent. Each offer is scored against fixed, published criteria, and inclusion, ranking and the words we write about an offer are decided on the merits — never bought.

  • Vendors cannot pay to be listed, to rank higher, or to have a negative note removed.
  • An affiliate relationship, or the presence of Google ads, has no bearing on whether an offer appears or how it scores.
  • If an offer stops being a good deal, we change or remove it regardless of any commercial relationship.

What we collect (context)

The only personal data Studely collects directly is your email address, used for magic-link sign-in (no passwords). Outbound links and the ad tag do involve third parties:

Party Role What it means for you
Vendor sites Destination of outbound links — none is an affiliate link today, and no vendor pays us Once you arrive, the vendor may set its own cookies under its own policy
Google AdSense Advertising. The tag loads on every page; no ad unit is configured, so no ad is served Google may set cookies or read device identifiers; in the EEA/UK/CH its consent platform asks you first
Supabase, Vercel, Cloudflare, Resend Our processors (hosting, auth, email, DNS) Handle site operation and sign-in email delivery

Studely earns nothing today: no offer here is an affiliate link and no advertising is running. We intend to add both, and will say so plainly here and on the offer itself when we do. Payment will never buy a better score.
